A Busy January
I have been hearing from our 14 Network churches that January has seen a lot of newcomers at Sunday gatherings. Often, January tends to see fewer new faces around – but not in 2024. It is exciting that we have such wonderful opportunities to welcome people, introduce them to Jesus and encourage those who are already followers. When you gather with God’s people this Sunday, look out for and welcome those who are new.
Pray for Trinity Church Para Hills
Can I especially ask you to pray for our brothers and sisters at Trinity Church Para Hills as they launch publicly at Para Hills High School this Sunday, February 4? This church has outgrown its facilities in Pooraka, and God has wonderfully supplied a venue at Para Hills, which has more space. In the last few weeks, they have been running ‘trial’ services to familiarise themselves with the new space. Already, people in the local area have heard and been turning up. The nearby neighbours have been letterboxed, and members are praying for and inviting their friends. Ask God in His kindness to draw many under the sound of the gospel. You may have friends or family that live in this area. You can send them an electronic invitation or direct them to the Trinity Church Para Hills website.
Meeting Jesus over Easter
I also wanted to let you know that in March 2024, all 14 churches in the Trinity Network will be part of an exciting Easter campaign. We are partnering with gospel-centred churches and ministries across the nation. The theme is ‘Meet Jesus’. This is the brainchild of the Australian Fellowship of Evangelical Students (AFES). They are already running a mission across all tertiary campuses in the country and thought it would be so encouraging if churches and Christian ministries joined in. Already, churches and ministries in all the capital cities of Australia are on board. You can read more about the background of the national mission here.
Easter is only eight weeks away! You’ll soon start to see the ‘Meet Jesus’ promotional material rolling out at your church. However, the key is to be praying. Can I ask you to regularly pray for three not-yet Christian friends as we head towards Easter? Let’s also pray that God will pour out His Spirit on the people of our nation.
